Overview

Community Technology Gateway was established through the amalgamation of 2 visions from 2 regions. Reliance Ltd, established under Community Waikato driven by the vision of Andrea Goble and ICT Gateway established under Bishops Action Foundation and the vision of Simon Cayley. To ensure the sustainablity of both projects and to enhance the delivery both visionairies joined together to establish Community Technology Gateway Ltd, a social enterprise with a charitable status.

The Community Technology Gateway is a social enterprise that delivers cost-effective and sustainable Information Communication Technology (ICT) services to the voluntary and community sector (the sector). We are a self-funding limited liability company with charitable status.  Our purpose is to ensure the sector has affordable access to the technology and support it needs to deliver successful outcomes. Microsoft has made us a strategic partner in recognition of the work we undertake within the sector. This partnership enables our staff to train with Microsoft and work with them to develop and deliver five-year strategic plans for organisations.

Operating in the Waikato and Taranaki regions, however sector demand means we are using contractors to deliver services in other parts of the country. This approach is not sustainable in the long-term so we are currently developing a strategic plan to enable us to extend our services and locate dedicated staff across New Zealand.
